Each December, about the time of the Winter Solstice, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Belfast presents a seasonal celebration for the public. Drawing from a range of traditions from various cultures that marked the shortest day of the year, the program includes performances and interactive activities for all ages. Highlights include music by the superb UUCB choir and other area singing groups, Morris and sword dances, storytelling, an original Mummer’s Play in the old English tradition, caroling, poetry, and more.
All performers volunteer their talents. Admission is by donation, and all proceeds are donated to a local organization that serves local residents in need.
