Dear Friends,

Hello, I’m Reverend Deane Perkins, Minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Belfast, Maine. Welcome to our website, where you’ll find lots of information about our “uncommon denomination.”

Imagine a church that has no creed – where people come together to search for spiritual meaning and where Religious Exploration programs for children encourage them to explore their values and to learn about other faiths as well as their own. If you believe in one god, many, or none at all, you can find a spiritual home with us.

Browse around. There are many ways for you to engage in congregational life. Check out our extraordinary choir, our programs for children and youth, or classes for spiritual growth, to name a few.

Our denomination’s history of progressive social activism has placed us in the forefront of movements fostering human rights, environmental protection and peace. Here in Belfast, our passion for community service has led to programs such as the Restorative Justice Program of the Mid-coast, the Belfast Peace Festival and Window Dressers, which substantially lower participants’ heating costs.

2017 has been an exciting year. We have just reoccupied our totally renovated 19th century building in downtown Belfast in order to provide our UU members and the local community bigger and better facilities.

Please join us any Sunday for a service. Introduce yourself to our members. They will help you find your way into our vibrant and supportive church community. I look forward to meeting you!
