FEB. 7 The Goal of World Community?

given by the Rev. T. Richard Snyder

In the midst of a nation and world that are bitterly divided, the sixth UU

principle sets forth the seemingly impossible goal of world community

with peace, liberty and justice for all. What will it take to create that

community and what steps can we take?

FEB. 14 Standing on the Side of Love

given by the Rev. Mary Wellemeyer

We are part of a larger movement that is making it a priority to stand on

the side of love – to affirm the importance of real families ahead of

abstract ideas about the way the world should be. Same-gender marriage

would be part of that, yes? We celebrate our commitment to this important

work.

FEB. 21 The Power of Names

given by Ian Howard

Names hold power. Many say they hold the power of “making”. What

does this mean in our modern world? What does this mean in our spiritual

lives? What does this mean for our church?

FEB. 28 A Hindu Buddhist Pagan Humanist Reads the Bible

given by the Rev. Mary Wellemeyer

The Bible is important, even to Unitarian Universalists. A long-time UU,

Rev. Mary has evolved her own eclectic theology, but she still appreciates

Judaism and Christianity. This morning she will share some

thoughts on what’s in the Bible and how it can be helpful in guiding our

lives.

MARCH 7 It Matters

given by the Rev. Mary Wellemeyer

What would Belfast be like if there were no UU church here? What

would your own personal life be like without this UU congregation as

part of it? It matters that the church is here and thriving. It’s time to consider

the time, talent, and treasure it takes to make this house of worship

a home for all who find inspiration in our message.
