OCTOBER SERVICES

OCT 12

Faith-Peace Pilgrimage

given by Mair Honan

Mair will speak about her experience of a peace walk down the coast of Maine in the spring of 2003, and share how the walk relates to her faith.  Mair Honan is a student at Bangor Theological Seminary and lives in Lincolnville.

Potluck follows the service…even if you forget to bring something to share, don't forget to stay…there is always plenty.

Visions/Realities

given by David Smith

David will talk about his efforts to transform visions into realities, and especially about his determination to end the war in Vietnam.  David has found that such efforts can lead to some rather unbelievable - and unexpected - consequences.

OCT 26

Samhain

given by the Rev. Louise Shorette

Samhain is an ancient holy day acknowledged around the world by many different cultures and known by many names.  The service will celebrate the ancestors by creating a community altar with symbols of the season:  pumpkins, apples, nuts, colorful leaves, and flowers.  Individuals may contribute personal mementos and share a brief recollection of their departed loved ones or ancestors.  Louise is a priestess of the Temple of the Feminine Divine in Bangor.

The Ministry of Nurturing One Another

given by our minister Pam Gross

The third UU principle states that we encourage one another to "spiritual growth in our congregations."  This Sunday we affirm this commitment with the youngest and the newest adult members of our community, with a child dedication and our celebration of New Members.
