SEPTEMBER SERVICES

SEPT 5

9 AM

Work, Labor, and Food

given by George Maendel

Having grown up on a communal farm in North Dakota, and presently working for the Family Land Trust, George will speak about the food we eat, the work of our hands, and the labor of others

SEPT 12

Water Service

given by our minister, Pam Gross

This is our traditional water service.  Bring some water from whatever travels you have had over the summer, from either far away or in your own backyard, to add to a communal vessel.

SEPT 19

What's love got to do with it?

The cause and effect of civic responsibility

given by Jan Anderson

The Belfast area task force on drug abuse begins meeting on September 25.  In this service, Jan will discuss the journey from concern to commitment and challenge our individual and collective commitment to creating a compassionate community.

SEPT 26

What the church expects from us.

given by David Loxterkamp

Drawing from Roman Catholic and Unitarian Universalist traditions, David will talk about his experience of "church" as more than a social hour, service organization, or salvation club.  So what is church?  More importantly, what does it expect from us?

OCT 3

Right Action in Troubled Times

Given by David Smith

David, the former Radical, brings his story (begun in past services) into the present.  He reflects on his progression from wanting to tear down "the system" to seeking to rebuild, and the "nettlesome work" of finding right action.
