Water: Our Right, Our Responsibility

Led by the Social justice Committee

March 6th is Social Justice Sunday in UU congregations throughout the world. A video from the UU United Nations Office Seminar in 2003 described how every 8 seconds a child dies from drinking contaminated water, a problem that could be completely eradicated by investing a sum of money equal to what has been spent on the war effort in Iraq. This service is for education and reflection on the vast inequities surrounding access to clean water. What can we, as a congregation and as individuals, do to make sure that all of the world’s citizens can exercise their right to clean water?

Why I’m Here

Led by our minister, Pam Gross

Answering the question of why we do what we do is to find what is, for some, the fundamental reason for living. Some thoughts about purposeful living.

The Search for Leadership

Led by Tom Grogan

In a world so full of beauty and wonder, sometimes it can be hard to know how to respond to the seeming paradox of violence and turmoil. At times like these the leadership that flows naturally from healthy, supportive human relationships is more important than ever. Join us while we consider the search for that leadership within ourselves and each other.  (Tom Grogan is a student at Bangor Theological Seminary (BTS) working on his Master of Divinity degree.  Tom and his family moved from New Hampshire so that he could attend BTS.)
