APRIL SERVICES

 APRIL 3

For Earth and Community: Celebrating our Green Sanctuary

Led by Reverend Katherine Jesch

Rev. Jesch will reflect on how our faith can help us to maintain hope in a healthy future while we work to counteract the threats and strive for justice that includes all of life on Earth. The service will be one of celebration as our congregation receives Green Sanctuary certification from Rev. Jesch, Director of Environmental Ministry for the 7th Principle Project and coordinator of The Green Sanctuary Program.

APRIL 10

On Making All Things New

Led by our minister, Pam Gross

New babies, new members, new lambs, growth-’tis the season. A service about fresh starts and beginnings, with all the accompanying joy and messiness. As a community which supports spiritual growth, we will celebrate renewal with a Maple Syrup Communion. New Members are welcomed today.

APRIL 17

Moral Courage

Led by Reverend Kitsy Winthrop

Please don’t let this “uncatchy” title mislead you; what I have discovered very recently–or perhaps rediscovered–about this subject has been transformative in my life. I can only hope what I’ve learned will make a difference in yours–and, if so, then perhaps a difference in the world. (Kitsy was our quarter-time minister in ‘96-’97, then served us the next year as the off-site supervisor of our ministerial intern. Though Kitsy now serves the Midcoast UU Fellowship (Edgecomb) and the UU Church in Saint John, NB, Canada, the Belfast UU congregation remains dear to her heart.

APRIL 24

The Universe Story-or, How Earth Came to be Our Home

In celebration of Earth Day, the Green Sanctuary along with Religious

Education is planning an intergenerational service enacting the events over the course of 13.8 billion years since the fire kiln of the Big Bang. Yes, all in one hour. You have to be there to believe it.
