APRIL SERVICES

APR 2

Have It Your Way

given by our minister, Pam Gross

Some have seen Unitarian Universalism as a drive-through religion, a fast-food fix for people in a hurry, while others find that it is a veritable feast for the soul. So what exactly are we serving here?

APR 9

Don’t Quit Before the Miracle

given by the Rev. Katharine H. Winthrop

Borrowing her title from the words of a ninety-year-old congregant in another UU church, our former minister will explore the wisdom in this advice. Kitsy serves as minister for two churches, the Midcoast UU Fellowship in Edgecomb and the UU Church in Saint John, New Brunswick.

APR 16

What Must I Do to Inherit Eternal Life?

given by our minister, Pam Gross

Pam will consider the human hope for life after death.

APR 23

The Interdependent Web of Existence

given by the Green Sanctuary Committee

This intergenerational service will celebrate the seventh UU principle and our church, a Green Sanctuary. We will hear how it became a Green Sanctuary and what we as a church and as individuals can do to continue this essential work. Each person will be encouraged to commit to an action.  (Suggestions appear in this and the March newsletters.)

APR 30

A Gift

given by the Rev. T. Richard Snyder

As this newsletter issue nears completion, Dick Snyder is incommunicado in the mountains of Sweden. Will this experience feed his service, or will another?  We can be certain that he will move our hearts and minds.

MAY 7

Common and Uncommon Threads:  Interfaith Dialogue and

Unitarian Universalism

given by our minister, Pam Gross, and Cheryl Fuller

Cheryl, a community manager for Beliefnet.com, writes: “Every week I see so much effort put forth by every faith group trying to show how some other group is wrong.  Lip service is given to tolerance, but when offered an opportunity, debate and challenge are what draw the most energy.” Together, Cheryl and Pam will explore the challenges and need for interfaith conversation.
