OCTOBER SERVICES

Oct. 7 Unconditional Love: Going Beyond Companionship

given by Deborah Lipsky

Last year Deb amazed and inspired our congregation with her service on

looking beyond disability. Her topic this year also draws on special understandings

she has by virtue of being autistic. Deb will discuss the behavioral

communication of animals and many ways in which animals actively help

people heal.

Oct . 14 Growing our Faith

given by our minister, Pam Gross

Today is “Association Sunday,” as all across our continent, UU congregations

are kindling their flames, affirming our common bonds and purposes

as congregations in association. UUA President William Sinkford has said,

“Now is the time...to grow our Faith. To let the world know we are here,

and to welcome those who seek our community of peace, justice and love.”

Sounds simple, but just how do we do that? Are we supposed to evangelize,

proselytize, advertise?

Oct . 21 Thoughts on Letting Go

given by Joanne Moesswilde

In a world where so much comes to us, how do we know what to hold on

to and what to let go of? Joanne will share perspectives from UU and other

world views.

Oct . 28 The Miracle of Healing

given by Dick Snyder

In today’s scientific culture, what are we to make of miraculous healing stories?

Are there really such things as miraculous healings or are they simply

superstitious or naďve accounts? Are there miracle workers today?

Nov. 4 Praying Out Loud

given by our minister, Pam Gross

Do we or don’t we? Should we or shouldn’t we? Silently or noisily? Never or

every day? With God or without God? Why or why not? Let us consider

prayer in the lives of Unitarian Universalists. We will welcome our newest members

today.
