NOVEMBER SERVICES

Nov. 4 Praying Out Loud

given by our minister, Pam Gross

Do we or don’t we? Should we or shouldn’t we? Silently or noisily? Never

or every day? With God or without God? Why or why not? Let us consider

prayer in the lives of Unitarian Universalists.

We will welcome our newest members today.

Nov. 11 Transforming Your Perceptions

with Transgender Understanding

given by Jean Vermette and the Welcoming Congregation Committee

A member of Waterville’s UU congregation, Jean will discuss relationships

between sex, gender, and sexual orientation; how being transgendered fits

into those aspects of being human; and how accepting our transgendered

neighbors works to expand our own spiritual growth. She is the founder and

former director of the Maine Gender Resource and Support Service, created

to provide information and education about transgenderism to Maine’s educational,

business, spiritual, mental health, and medical communities.

Nov. 18 Second Chances and the Power of Redemption

given by Stephen Allen

Using both fiction and memoir, UU-Belfast writer and atheist Stephen Allen

shares his stories on the theme of redemption.

Nov. 25 Giving, Receiving, Grace

given by Margaret L. Macleod

At this time of year, we give thanks, but how well do we receive gratitude

when it is expressed to us? Margaret will share readings and reflections on

this topic. We also will give special thanks to Steve Costanza in his last

scheduled Sunday as our beloved pianist.

December 2 Little Pieces of Light

given by our minister, Pam Gross

In our lives, as in the cycles of nature, we have seasons of darkness. What

sustains us at these times, and how can we be fully open to it?
