MARCH SERVICES

March 2 The Search for Enough

given by our minister, Pam Gross

This search is at the heart of most human yearning and yet it is one of the

most elusive words in our language. How do we define it? Is it adequate or

bountiful? How do we know when we’ve found it?

March 9 Guardians for Future Generations

given by Coleen O’Connell

We have been invited by our Native American friends in the Indigenous

Environmental Network to join efforts with them to become guardians for

all future beings. We will reflect together what it means to be a guardian

and explore our commitments to our future generations in the spirit of our

seventh UU principle.

March 16 The Roots of Justice

given by our minister, Pam Gross, and members of the Services Comm.

With our biannual maple syrup communion, we will consider what the trees

and other teachers tell us about commitment to life.

March 23 Resurrections

given by the Rev. Kate Braestrup

Resurrection happened to Jesus—and it can also happen to you, says Kate.

She is chaplain for the Maine Warden Service, author of Here If You Need

Me, and a beloved guest speaker at our church.

March 30 A Celebration of Peacemaking and Peacemakers

given by members of the Social Justice Committee

As the culmination of a month of exploring justice and recognizing peacemakers

around the world, we will celebrate the peacemaking work of people

from within our own community.

April 6 Risky Business

given by our minister, Pam Gross

The issues of race and gender have been raised in our current political climate

as cards to be played. Yet, if race and gender are “cards,” what game

are we playing? Our first principle, “We believe in the inherent worth and

dignity of every person,” calls us to action in challenging the oppressions of

our day.
