May 4 Perfectly Imperfect

given by our minister, Pam Gross

Consider how we may lovingly embrace the messiness of who we are.

 

May 11 The Hand that Rocks the Cradle

given by the Rev. Dr. T. Richard Snyder

Dick will show us how Hallmark and Christianity have gotten it wrong when

it comes to mothering.

 

May 18 Infinite Forms of the Divine in Hinduism

given by Dr. Nikky Singh

The plurality of the Divine is experienced in multiple ways in Hinduism.

Nikky Singh, Crawford Family Professor of Religious Studies at Colby

College and native of India, will explore that infinite variety with particular

focus on the deity Lord Krishna. Poetry (one of Dr. Singh’s specialties) and

music will further illustrate the service’s theme.

 

May 25 Watering the Seeds of Compassion

given by Bonnie VersbonCoeur

Bonnie, who is an American Soto Zen Buddhist priest (teacher), will share

some experiences from the clinical pastoral education program in which she

immersed herself this past winter and how her Zen practice informed her

responses to intense situations.

 

June 1 In Celebration of our Children

led by Danielle and Jason Bannister, the RE guides, and children

Come learn “What’s been happening upstairs” during the church year as our

younger members carry their chalice, energies, creativity, and senses of wonder

to the second floor each Sunday morning. (This is an intergenerational

service.)
