From Singing? led by Sumner Roberts Join us for Sumner's “hymn
sing,” one of the most spirited services of the year, and be
ready to request your favorites. [Join us for a picnic
(bring your own food!) at Heritage Park following the
service. This is a social gathering to celebrate the beginning of summer.
If it rains, we’ll eat at the church.] July 13 Acorns of Faith given by The Rev.
Katharine Hope Winthrop A favorite chapter in a book
Kitsy has savored gave her a story and metaphor that become
a balm and a tool to address her temptation to despair
about the plight of this exquisite, miraculous, generous
planet and the lives of all beings who inhabit it. July 20 The Essence of
Flowers given by Jacqui Lee Flowers have always had the
capacity to move us, aesthetically, emotionally, and even spiritually.
Today, Jacqui will explore one of the latest
frontiers in humanity's relationship with flowers. July 27 How Does
Nonviolence Work Here? given by Mary Trotochaud Mary will recount conversations
from two conferences on nonviolence that she attended
in India last March, including one with a young Iraqi doctor
who wondered how nonviolence could work in his
country now. August 3 Lammas Day

Pam Gross Please bring offerings from
your garden today, as we bless the first harvests of the
year, following both pagan and early Christian traditions. August 10 Weed Whacking given by Lane Fisher and
friends What makes a weed a weed, and
what might it teach us about dealing with the unwanted
things that sprout in our lives? Come laugh at human and
weed nature and dig into some serious answers. August 17 Home? led by Ian Howard Ian will discuss his evolving
definition of home
and invite us to ponder our own. August 24 Cultivating
Mindfulness: An Appointment With Life given by Steve Collins Steve will draw upon his years
of studying meditation, attending retreats, and leading
a meditation group, sharing some of his experiences. August 31 5 Rhythms
Movement: Dancing Life given by Kari Luehman 5 Rhythms Dance is a profound
physical and spiritual practice which can be a source
of guidance and inspiration for our lives. Kari, a resident
of Hope, will share her passion as a 5 Rhythms dance
teacher. September 7 [AT 10:00 AM!]
Water Ceremony given by Margaret
Macleod Welcome back from your summer
sojourns! We bring our beloved community into our
regular Sunday services schedule by celebrating a
communion of waters. Bring a small container of water
collected during your summer adventures.
