Religious led by the Rev. Mark Worth A lot of people tell Mark
Worth, minister to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Castine, that
they are “spiritual but not religious.” What does “spiritual” mean? What
does “religious” mean? Mark’s exploration of these questions leads him to
conclude that he, for one, is both. April 5 Risk Taking or Faithful
Living? given by Rev. Danielle De Bona Could it be that when we take
risks we are actually demonstrating our faith? Taking risks can be
liberating, especially when we do so “in faith.” Let us be faithful, and
faith-full people who are willing to take risks in ways that share our liberal
faith. April 12 Rolling Stones given by our minister, Pam
Gross An Easter Sermon for Unitarian
Universalists and other skeptics. April 19 The Choice to Save the
World AN EARTH DAY INTERGENERATIONALWORSHIP SERVICE led by the Green Sanctuary
Committee We are all concerned about how
to save our planet from excessive degradation, consumption and waste. This
service, based on a futuristic myth, allows us to explore how our
efforts toward environmental compassion are actually in line with our
religious principles. The congregation will be invited to participate in the
Elm Dance at the end of the Service. April 26 Nurturing Right
Relationship led by the Committee on
Ministry Diversity is honored and upheld
in our congregation, but can also be a challenge as we learn to walk
together, to tend our relationships and to nurture healthy boundaries at
all levels. This is the value of covenant, and the focus of this committee for
the past year. Meet the Committee on Ministry and learn what it
means to be a Covenanted Community. May 3 Going to the Very Edge: Where the Old World Ends and
Something New Begins. given by our minister, Pam
Gross An edge is a place of
transition and transformation, a place both terrifying and inspiring. And thus an edge
is a place of spiritual deepening. Where are the “edges” of your life?
