Over the past few years, many UU congregations, in Maine and across the country, have started sharing their Sunday morning offering with non-profit organizations that are aligned with the UU principles. In 2014, UUCB opted to join their efforts. Our congregation has identified an array of worthy local organizations and each Sunday, a portion of the collection is designated for an area organization.

Recipients for proceeds from our Shared Plate are nominated, chosen, and scheduled with input from the UUCB congregation. These organizations are noted for their broad impact in the Waldo County community, aligning with the principles of the UU Church. The UUCB Shared Plate committee members are: Neva Allen, Jessie Gower, and David Smith.

The Shared Plate recipients for 2016-17 are:

June/July 2016 – Waldo County Home Health and Hospice
August/September – Restorative Justice

November – Food Cupboard
December –  Interfaith Fuel Fund

February – Game Loft
