Small Group Ministries are also known as “covenant groups” or “chalice circles.” They are designed to provide members with a spiritual connection beyond the Sunday service and a challenge to take a faith journey together in a small group.
Led by a facilitator, groups generally meet bi-monthly and experience a topic at each session through listening, meditation and sharing. Topics have included right relations, integrity, heart-song, compassion, forgiveness, and more. Diverse opinions, backgrounds and personalities are able to share safely and confidentially. A covenant is created among members, and this serves as the governing element of the group.
Each group also does a service project for the church as an expression of ministry and gratitude for their group experience. This year one group assisted the stewardship team with a conference and the other will complete an outdoor gardening project.
