Members and friends are UUCB’s greatest treasure, and volunteering time and talent can yield such treasures as friendship, personal enrichment, getting to know the community, and good feelings of a job well done. Many hands do make light work when they work as a team. It takes many hands and many teams for the church to function and flourish.
Opportunities to get involved abound, from baking brownies, sorting books or taking photographs to leading programs, working with youth, or raising funds. Members of the church community greet members and visitors on Sunday and prepare refreshments for the social hour after the service; sing in the choir; work with children in the religious education programs; promote Peace Advocacy; plan and organize social events; share talents at programs and performances; reach out to members in need; plan Sunday services; donate goods and helping run fundraising sales; write press releases; host UU travelers through the UU Bed & Breakfast Program; help maintain our buildings and groups; update the UUCB Facebook page and data for the On-line Auction; and do many other things that help make UUCB an appealing, efficient, attractive, and viable community.
